Let’s address something I hear daily:

“My clients aren’t even on social media.”

What you meant to say was, “My clients aren’t on THAT platform.”

Your clients are on social media. Every single generation is on social media. We’ve got babies on tablets watching Youtube and 95 year old great grandmas on Facebook and everything in between.

But how do you find them? Where do you start to look without feeling incredibly overwhelmed?

First, you need to know who they are. Do you know who your customer is? No shame if you don’t, most business owners don’t really know.

One of the most important things you can do for the success of your business is knowing exactly who your client is and where to find them.

If you do not know who your customer is how can you find them and market to them?

Let’s find them.

Step one – identify your ideal customer. Write down their age, their occupation, their interests… get specific and really think through who they are and what their interests are.

Step two – find them online. Google is our friend here. Research which social media platforms your clients use. Where do they get their news? Which types of websites do they visit? Entertainment? Personal growth? Shopping? Are they primarily on Facebook or Instagram or LinkedIn?

Step three – develop a marketing plan to target your potential clients where they are at. This is where your details about your client will come in handy to develop your ad verbiage.

Easy. Three steps and you know exactly where your clients are and how to market directly to them.
